Kevin Wesley Williams, Owner/Producer/Engineer

 

Kevin Wesley Williams was born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit "Rock City/Hockey Town USA" Michigan. He began producing and engineering albums in 1992. However, his career started in 1980 as a live touring engineer. 

Some of the acts Kevin has toured with over the years include Marilyn Manson, Peter Criss, Debbie Harry, Rayven Symone, Dickey Betts, Megadeth, Paul Anka, Engelbert Humperdink, Widowmaker, The Church, The Bogmen, Frank Sinatra jr., Bernie Worrell, Francis Dunnery, and many others.

Kevin has focused the better part of his recording career, producing and recording indie and "up and coming" local artists. With his diverse musical influence, Kevin has produced records from pop to rock to country. Most notably, in 1992 he had a hand in the production and mixing of tracks for The Bogmen’s (Arista Records) release “Closed Caption Radio.” In that same year, Kevin produced, engineered and mixed Big Hate's(Flip/A&M) release "Big Hate." More recently Kevin produced, engineered and mixed albums for Altered State's (Independent) Release “Sex Factor,” Alright Junior's (Slugfest/ADA Warner) release “Eudamonic," Black Market Radio's (Slugfest/ADA Warner) release “Better Than A Killer," Dust For Life's (independent) release “The Consequence of Vanishing," Core Effect’s (Independent) release “Armored Shades of Light,” Noosphere’s (Range Records) release “Always and Never," and Lori Lampkin’s (LL Records) release “That Place." Kevin also had a recent top 10 hit ”Heartbreaker” with Suzanne Gorman’s (Range Records) release “Open Book." 2011 has seen the release of Core Effect’s latest album “Tied to the Rails."

2012 was also a busy year with several album releases; most notable being the newest release from Core Effect called "Rubicon" and two releases from Murphee Doyle.

Because of Kevin's on-the-road lifestyle, he has had the pleasure of calling many states his home. But since moving to back Michigan in September of 2012 more permanently, he has made his home at The Sound Shop Studio in Macomb, MI, where he has been very busy producing studio albums. Kevin also works as a live sound engineer for multiple bands in the Metro Detroit area, most notably, ELSIE BINX.
